Driftwood Hotel is a small boutique hotel by Gerrans Bay, Cornwall. A few miles from the lively fishing ports of St Mawes and Portscatho, popular destinations for the yachting crowds and families alike, this irreverent coastal retreat is great for an action-packed holiday by the sea or romantic stay along the Cornish coast. Great service, stunning sea views and 7 acres of private gardens make this a wonderful place from which to explore the natural beauty of the area.

Accommodation
Driftwood Hotel has 15 rooms and a 2-bedroom cabin, all designed with luxurious comfort in mind with a light & airy feel that sits well with the coastal location. References to the sea abound with collections of seashells and coastline-themed print cushions. Bedrooms and living rooms cater for both families and those away for a romantic trip. Guests will feel right at home with a living room kitted out with books, magazines and board games for a cosy night in. Children can play in the games room while adults can sit back in their own living room or, in the ground floor suites, on the decked terrace. The 2-bed weather boarded cabin is a particularly private spot with great sea views. All rooms have complimentary WiFi and TV/Video, and most en-suites have both bath & shower.
Activities
In such beautiful surroundings, Driftwood Hotel is a great spot for a day out lounging on their own private beach or walking long the coastal paths. With the famous surfing town of Newquay nearby, water sport enthusiasts are in for a treat, or for a more peaceful day, guests can try their hand at fishing. The staff are happy to organise a game of golf or tennis for guests.
There are plenty of cultural gems to visit, among them the Tate Gallery at St Ives, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Dining
The pan-European menu at the award-winning Drifwood Hotel restaurant uses locally-sourced ingredients in a creative menu with dishes such as watercress soup, poached quail eggs, pear, smoked eel and bacon foam; and there is naturally an emphasis on seafood with Pollack, tagliatelle, fresh mushroom puree, pickled mushrooms and cauliflower among the fish dishes on offer. The restaurant has great views of the sea in the light-filled space, simply decorated. Staff are happy to pack up a lunch hamper for a day out on the beach.
On a trip to the nearby towns, grab some fish & chips, or take to one of the tea shops for some scones with jam and some Cornish clotted cream, reputed to be the best in the world.
Rates
Rates at Driftwood Hotel are per room per night and include VAT, morning tea, breakfast & newspaper. Children under 12 years are charged GBP 15 and over 12 years are charged GBP 20. Young children can have an early supper at GBP 10. A deposit of GBP 150 is required per room per week on booking. A minimum booking sometimes applies.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations mus tbe made 21 days prior to arrival or 75% of the booking value will be charged. Cancellations made within 24 hours of arrival time will be charged 100% of the rate if the room cannot be relet.
