About this Chic Retreat

Johan and Pieter have transformed Château de la Resle into a luxury B&B in the style of a small boutique hotel, in the countryside near Montigny la Resle, Bourgogne. Traditional furnishings and contemporary art blend effortlessly to create a stylish and atmospheric hideaway. Surrounded by an estate of private gardens and ancient trees guests will feel cocooned from the hustle and bustle of the outside world making this an ideal Chic Retreat for those looking for a real escape and some quality time away.

Accommodation

With just 2 rooms and 2 suites, guests are guaranteed personal service and privacy during their stay at Château de la Resle. Both rooms are situated in the wings of the château; The Blue Room has lovely far reaching views across the valley and from here guests can enjoy the early morning sunrise. Both rooms have their own private bathroom. The Green Room enjoys a different aspect with views over the orangery and gardens - for those looking for peace and tranquility this is the room to go for. The Suites are ideal for couples looking for more space and with their own living room (with bunk beds) and fully equipped kitchen they are perfect for a small family or for those who like to be a little more independent. The Gardener's Suite is large (100sqm) and is situated in the gardener's cottage - new and spacious this suite is on two floors and has internet access and satellite TV.

Activities

If you are a foodie you will be spoilt for choice as to how to spend your days. The village of Chablis with its vineyards and wineries is close by, as is the charming village of Irancy. Cheese lovers can immerse themselves in the local delicacies of Chaource, Epoisses and Soumaintrain and in the Autumn Burgundy has some of the best truffles in France. Springtime is best for enjoying the Asparagus. If culture is more your thing then there is plenty to see in Auxerre (Abbey of St Germain) and Vézelay. Throughout the year there are antique markets in Aillant-sur-Tholon and Mézilles. Golfers won't be disappointed as there are some great golf courses nearby to choose from and there is a small gym at Château de la Resle. For those looking for some pampering, Château de la Resle have an arrangement with one of the top spa resort in France, the Prieuré des Sources, just 40 minutes drive away.

Dining

If you are lucky enough to stay at this small chic hotel in the summer months then you can enjoy the fruits from the garden and the orangery. Johan and Pieter prepare a wonderful breakfast to kick start the day.

Open from April 1st until October 1st and on request.
Minimum 2 night stay
The rooms are available from 3pm until noon on the day of departure.
All rooms are non smoking and domestic animals are not allowed.
A WiFi system and the fitness room are at your disposal for the duration of your stay. Children are welcome, but Johan and Pieter leave it up to their parents to decide if their child will enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
