A small, cozy library offers a quiet corner to read in and is where you can find the internet and TV. The spa floor has an indoor swimming pool, massage area and steam room, a Yoga corner and a small gym for those wanting to keep up with their fitness routine. The terrace in front of the swimming pool (heated from solar panels) has chaise-longues made from reclaimed wood and can be used for sun-bathing in the summer.
Food glorious food! It is always such an important element in a holiday and at Villa Gella you won't be disappointed. The Rhodope region is home to ancient culinary traditions using produce from the local rivers, land and farmers, ensuring the freshest meat, game, fish, fruit and berries are used. The yoghurt and dairy produce, including the local cheese (branza) is from the grazing cows and sheep. The resident chef creates authentic local dishes including patatnik (a mixture of potatoes, cheese and eggs baked on a hot stone) and lozovi sarmi (a mixture of rice and minced meat wrapped in pickled cabbage leaves and steamed) with ease and flair. To complement the dishes there is a selection of the wines of Terra Tangra which is the the best new generation Bulgarian winery. The spacious living and dining room is at the heart of Villa Gella, a place to enjoy afternoon tea brewed from local medicinal herbs or a family game of Monopoly!
Next to the dining area, in an East facing alcove, there is another smaller dining area which seats five and is ideal for childrens meals. The Kitchen itself is a professionally equipped and the chef is available on request throughout your stay.
Villa Gella has 6 stunning bedrooms all of which boast fabulous, far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside. The rooms are vast, as are the beds, and all feature their own wood-burning fireplace, sitting area and large bathroom. There are some great options for families that are staying here together; the Terrace Room and the Glass Room are connected via a small corridor and can form a secluded large two-bedroom suite on the third floor whilst the Oriental Room, the largest in the villa, has two four poster beds and two large sofas, and due to its size and lay out, is perfect for a family.
