About this Chic Retreat
La Réserve au Pavillon du Château Raba is a small boutique hotel owned by the same owner as the beautiful boutique hotel La Villa Mauresque in the South of France. This private mansion benefits from an ideal location, being surrounded by 2 hectares of woods in the centre of the Graves wine area and only 5 kilometres from the centre of Bordeaux, and 12 minutes from the airport.
In 1783, the Raba family, a family of merchants exiled from Portugal during the Inquisition, ordered the construction of the Château Raba by Victor Louis, the architect famous for having built the Grand Theatre in Bordeaux. A stunning guest house was built to accommodate all the privileged guests of the Château at the start of the 19th-century. Keeping in line with the architecture of the property, the 'Pavillon' benefits from impossibly high ceilings and arched neoclassical curves. In 1958, the Château and its parkland was classed as a historic monument by the Batiments de France. Now the "Pavillon du Chateau Raba" has returned to its former glory and initial purpose. Renovated in 2007 in a traditional style, the Pavillon du Chateau Raba offers its privileged guests comfort, privacy and luxury in an exclusive environment.
Accommodation
The stylish bedrooms (9) and suites (2) of La Réserve au Pavillon du Château Raba have regained their previous charm and prestige. With beautiful antique floorboards and mantle pieces over old fireplaces (not functional), marble bathrooms and large windows, the bedrooms benefit from views over the wooded parkland. The decoration is classic with a modern touch of Farrow and Ball colours which gives it its unique atmosphere of calm and well-being.
Activities
This small charming hotel has a highly trained and highly professional masseur whose services include Tao and Shiatsu massages. Personal training is also available and there is a small heated pool, sauna and well-equipped gym. There are many places of interest near La Réserve au Pavillon du Château Raba including the botanical gardens, the famous Château of Haut Brion, Bordeaux itself and the surrounding Gascony countryside.

La Réserve au Pavillon du Château Raba has a gourmet restaurant serving up delicious French cuisine accompanied by fine regional wines. All the meals are prepared by the hotels fantastic chef who has spent his entire career in top Michelin star restaurants.
