About this Chic Retreat

Grubegg Manor was built in 1591 as Schloss Grubegg and has recently been converted into a small charming hotel in the centre of one of the largest and most pristine cross country ski slopes in Europe. Just 2 km from Bad Mitterndorf village, Schloss Grubegg is within easy reach of Salzburg which is just over an hour away. This small boutique hotel is in the area well known as "The Salzkammergut region" (salt mountain region) famous for its many lakes with crisp clear turquoise water some of which are bordered by lovely beaches. As well as the Winter months Spring and Summer are beautiful seasons to come here; breathtaking views, the wildlife, fishing, golf, hiking & biking. Schloss Grubegg is the perfect escape for adults who are looking for a romantic hideaway or a few days escape.

Accommodation

All of the 10 rooms at Schloss Grubegg are individual with their own charm and character. The mix of modern furniture and antiques works really well and creates a cosy, personal feel. The rooms are all en-suite with Satellite TV and most with internet connection. To enhance the cosy feel that is so important after a days skiing "Kachel ovens" (ceramic tiled wood burner) are in some of the bedrooms.

Activities

Cross country ski slopes are right on the door step of Schloss Grubegg and Bad Mitterndorf lies at the bottom of the Tauplitzalm ski resort (just 10 minutes away) which offers every level of skiing. During the Summer months there are plenty of activities to choose from; fishing, golf, tennis, hiking & biking.

Dining

A skiing holiday just wouldn't be complete without long lunches in mountain huts or hillside restaurants. There are plenty of possibilities to eat and drink in traditional places along the slopes or guests can even ski into the village directly from the hotel.
