Il Borro is a medieval village, owned by the Ferragamo family, with beautiful villas, farmhouses and boutique hotel suites in the Tuscan countryside not far from the picturesque town of Arezzo. The buildings of Il Borro have been immaculately and beautifully restored to their original splendour housing indulgent suites decorated in a classical, luxurious, Tuscan style. Exceptional service and a vast choice of activities sets Il Borro apart from other boutique hotels in Tuscany and guests can choose to stay in one of the historic luxury villas, farmhouses on the estate or in one of the suites in the village. This 700 year old estate lies in the heart of Tuscany in the Val d'Arno, an area of outstanding natural beauty filled with olive trees and the famous vineyards of Chianti. In fact the first ever documented production of Chianti wine was here at Il Borro, a dream for all seasons.
Housed in a traditional Tuscan building the spa at Il Borro can be found at the heart of the estate. State-of-the-art facilities combined with an holistic approach to wellbeing, fitness, nutrition and beauty make this spa one of the best in the Tuscan countryside. Diagnostic treatments as well as beauty therapies and skincare regimes are all available using Kabebo Cosmetics for skincare, Pevonia for beauty, skin wraps and organic products and Mesoetetic for the diagnostic treatments.
The Tuscan countryside offers plenty of opportunity for those who like horse riding, walking, running or mountain biking. For guests wanting to simply relax the infinity swimming pool is the perfect view point from which to take in the estate and panoramic surroundings. Golfers have a choice of several nearby golf courses and tennis can be enjoyed on te estate. Personal trainers can be booked to take you through your workout in the gym and instructors are on hand to give you a helping hand.
Truffle hunting takes place in the winter months surrounding the Il Borro estate and is a full day experience including a delicious lunch. Hot Air Ballooning is a must (if the weather is right) from late spring to early autumn - the views on a clear day are simply breathtaking. Wine tours, guided tours, cooking courses and wine tastings can all be arranged, most of them are full day experiences.
Of course Florence isn't far away and is full of wonderful museums and cultural sites, shops and bars and Arezzo one of Tuscany's finest small cities is even closer with a monthly antique fair (first Sunday of the month) and some lovely boutiques.

All of the suites and villas at Il Borro have been immaculately restored whilst maintaining many original features and a classical Tuscan style. Choose between 9 Classical Suites, filled with historic charm, they also have every modern comfort you could wish for. One of our favourites is Malagnino, with its own private garden, it is hidden away in a secret corner of the village. It has 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, sitting room, kitchen and shared outdoor pool. Rino sleeps 8 people and can be found at the highest point of the village with panoramic views of the valley below. It has a lovely sitting room with a large open fireplace, perfect for cosy evenings.
