About Lulu and Chic Retreats

Whilst working in Sports Sponsorship & Marketing, Lulu qualified as a Reflexologist and Tennis Coach in the early 90s.  She then caught the hotel bug when her parents opened their small boutique hotel Palazzo Terranova, in 1999 (which they sold in 2006).

Inspired by working for this gorgeous boutique hotel from 2000 to 2002, Lulu started Chic Retreats with just 17 small hotels.  The collection now encompasses 50 countries and over 300 privately owned boutique hotels, B&B’s and luxury villas.  Unlike other collections the hotels, B&Bs and villas invited to join have less than 40 rooms.

Lulu really believes that quality doesn't always have to mean 5 stars & high prices; each Chic Retreat is carefully chosen by her to exemplify warmth, character & personal service.  Lulu lives in Suffolk with her husband and two gorgeous girls and loves anything pink, purple or sparkly!
