The ownership of Umbria's original boutique hotel, Palazzo Terranova has changed from the original owners who built this country house hotel from a ruin...Palazzo Terranova is a magnificent palazzo in a remarkable position surrounded by sun kissed olive groves with views stretching across the valley and mountains to Monte Amiata.

Accommodation - 8 Rooms

The love and care that went into the restoration of Palazzo Terranova is evident everywhere you look particularly in the 8 rooms each with its own theme and layout, and with names from the world of opera such as La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Rigoletto. The new owners have put in marble showers and updated some of the interiors throughout the hotel enhancing the exsiting colour scheme and design.

Activities

Activities can be as strenuous or as relaxed as you like; sit on the terrace and watch the sunset, play golf or tennis, cycle to the local towns, walk through the hills and forests, take a hot air ballooning trip or sip a Terranova cocktail in the stunning 40ft heated infinity pool set in one of the most romantic positions in Italy whilst the sun disappears behind the olive soaked hills of Umbria. A perfect base for exploring Renaissance Italy including the local Umbrian towns of Assisi, Orvieto, Todi and Gubbio, not forgetting the neighbouring Tuscan towns of Cortona and Arezzo. In October and November guests can enjoy Truffle Hunting weekends. A wide selection of spa and beauty treatments are available either in the treatment room or in-room. Cooking weekends including Truffle and Porcini weekends take place throughout the year as well as Mind, Body Spirit retreats.

Dining

Guests can enjoy lunch or dinner at Palazzo Terranova and children can also be catered for and are warmly welcomed. A new hidden 'cantina' has been added behind the Palazzo and here guests can enjoy wine tastings or dinner by candle light.

Room Rates for 2009

Rates are per room per night and include; Arrival Drinks, Breakfast and taxes. Additional person (12yrs and older) for bed and breakfast costs €75. Additional person under 12yrs costs €30. A minimum 4 night stay is required over Christmas and New Year with a half board rate of 75 euros per person per day.
