Dating back to the early 19th-century, Villa Le Scale was once home to the Barons Monti Della Corte (whose family represented the union of two noble lines). This luxurious villa is one of the most exclusive boutique hotels in Capri. Villa Le Scale is one of the few original Caprian Villas of that era still intact. Villa Le Scale can be found along the lane which leads to the famous Villa San Michele museum and is one of those special places where you want to return to again and again. The present owner, a distinguished antiquarian and art collector, has painstakingly restored the villa with exquisite workmanship and superb interior decoration.
The result is an inspiring collection of rooms based on the theme of art and travel ensuring that this magical residence retains its historical charm.
On entering Villa Le Scale guests can feel the entire history of Anacapri lingering in the air. The owner, whilst maintaining the historical and architectural features of the building, has managed to transform the house into an exclusive historical residence imbued with the feeling of a "home from home".
In this glorious setting with its century old trees, marvellous displays of flowers and splendid swimming pool, hidden amongst the flora, the owner and her staff extend the warmest of welcomes to each and every guest. The 7 suites of the Villa le Scale, which are named after famous guests who have stayed there over the centuries, have been meticulously restored and equipped with every modern comfort. They have been beautifully furnished with antiques which perfectly complement the style of the renovated building. The en-suite bathrooms are spacious and have, according to the theme of their room, a Turkish bath, plunge pool, duplex shower or jacuzzi. Most suites have flower-covered terraces with superb views of the sea or of the gardens. All rooms have LCD satellite television, DVD, safety deposit box, mini bar and internet access.
Activities
For sports enthusiasts there are tennis courts just moments away from the villa, whilst for those wishing to explore the area, the museum of Villa S Michele, the chair lift leading to Monte Solaro, and the church of S. Michele in the heart of historic centre, are all within easy reach.
Dining
Light lunch and snacks are available by the swimming pool and dinner is on request. All food is produced using the freshest seasonal produce available and made from traditional mediterranean recipes.
