We first visited Jakes just after it had opened, nearly 15 years ago. Even now it is just as unspoilt and laid back as it was then. One of the first Island Outpost properties, Jakes was one of Jamaica's first boutique hotels and really put Jamaica on the map as the place to go for a private & exclusive experience whilst experiencing authentic Jamaica.

The chefs at Jakes, with a little warning, will happily give cooking lessons to a maximum of 4 people at any one time, sharing the secret of of Jerk cooking & spices and how to prepare certain exotic tropical fruits like ackee and traditional dishes like 'Run Down'. Jake’s Driftwood Spa has merged delicious techniques and philosophies from around the world into a potent blend of Caribbean treatments, ensuring a delectable wellness experience.
Dining
Jakes has 2 restaurants which serve fresh seafood and traditional Jamaican dishes. Little Ochie is on the beach just in front of Jakes and it has been created out of old boats which have been given thatched roofs and raised on stilts. Blackie is the owner and one of Jamaicas greatest chefs. Jack Sprat is where the entertainment happens and where delicious cocktails & cool beers are served.
