Dar Zemora - Marrakech - Morocco

Dar Zemora was created as a ‘Country House Hotel’ and a chic luxury retreat from the world. The 2 luxurious and spacious suites with their four poster beds and private terraces, and 3 elegant rooms are all individually designed. Traditional finishes have been used throughout the hotel such as tadalkt walls, bejmat floors, hand-painted zouak ceilings and doors and moucharabieh woodwork.

What makes this gorgeous small hotel special, however, is the many and beautifully appointed reception rooms. Space to be social or not as the mood dictates. Dar Zemora and Riad Farnatchi make a great combination. From the traditional gatehouse a driveway of olive trees leads you up to the house. After entering the turreted hall you find yourself in an enormous circular domed reception room. Two large sitting rooms lead off this room, both with comfortable armchairs and sofas, and one with a large welcoming fire in winter. For those who really want to retreat there is a cosy library with fireplace and an intricate hand-painted ceiling. The last and most impressive reception room is the airy Fan Room, perfectly named after its shape. It is an inside/outside room where guests can relax during the day or take an aperitif in the evening.


Accommodation - 5 rooms

The Perla Suite has a king size four poster bed, sitting area with fireplace, separate dressing room and bathroom. A large, totally private and half curtained roof terrace. The Zahara Suite, our favourite room has a king size four poster bed, sitting room with fireplace, and large bathroom with separate shower room and dressing area, private terrace and garden. The 3 elegant double rooms overlook the gardens. All suites and rooms have personally controlled air conditioning, marble baths, bath robes, ipod speakers and safe. The lovely swimming pool is heated in cooler months.

The Pavillion Pool Suite is a house in the gardens with two suite bedrooms and bathrooms, large living/dining room with fireplace and French doors onto extensive outside dining terrace with fountain. The Pavilion has the same attention to detail as in the Main Villa with a hand painted ceiling in the living room and vaulted ceilings in the bedrooms. Own private heated pool.
